I had the pleasure of visiting Cuba in the summer of 2019. I was not sure what to expect? I was told stories of an island stopped in time. What I discovered, as I walked the streets on scorching July days and nights, was an island with a complex history, rich traditions full of color, music, joy, resilience, dreams, excitement, sadness, and creativity. A true definition of the human spirit.
I have seen the effects of the U.S. embargo has caused the island. At a time when global cooperation is vital and critical to address global issues like climate change, Cuba’s people have suffered greatly. Many buildings outside of the historical Old Havana sector, do not have running water. They lack basic necessities such as soap, shampoo, and toilet paper.

Even though, I was borned in Chicago, I will never forget where my family is from. I am very proud of the rich traditions and culture that is Mexico. I strive to preserve and cherish the ethnic and cultural diversity that nourishes and strengths the Mexican community.
The decisive moment, coined by Henri Cartier-Bresson, one of my most beloved street photographers. It is about capturing the ephemeral and spontaneous moment before it is gone. That split second before the essence of the moment, subject, and experience is gone forever.
Urban Art is around us all the time. It is there for those who want to see. They tell stories, echo memories, reflect time come and gone. The thoughts and reflections of our collective, they become our subconscious.
